We are excited to let you know about a significant event that aims to foster racial healing, unity, and spiritual action in America. The ACU Carl Spain Center on Race Studies and Spiritual Action is organizing the Racial Healing of America Revival and Bus Tour, July 9–17, and warmly invites Christians and people of goodwill from diverse racial and political backgrounds to join in making a joint appeal to the heart of the church and the conscience of our nation. This unique event will take the form of a contemplative traveling worshiping community, embarking on a journey to key cities across the South that held great significance during the historic Civil Rights Movement. The purpose of the Revival and Bus Tour is to engage communities in reflection, dialogue, and worship, fostering a collective commitment to racial healing and social righteousness. During the tour, the group will make stops in the following cities, each with its own rich history and contributions to the Civil Rights Movement:
—Dallas, Texas (Tour Origination Point)
—Memphis, Tennessee
—Birmingham, Alabama
—Charleston, South Carolina (Including a visit to the International Museum of African American History)
—Raleigh, North Carolina
—Nashville, Tennessee
—Washington, D.C. (Culminating with a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture)
The journey will be one of prayer, worship, and contemplation, as participants seek to create a space where individuals from all walks of life can come together, learn from one another, and foster healing and understanding. The Revival and Bus Tour will offer an opportunity to reflect on the past, acknowledge the present, and work towards a better future while addressing racial and political divisions. In these challenging times, it is crucial that we come together as a nation, united in our commitment to racial and political healing. Registration for this trip is now closed, but your prayers and support for the success of this important initiative are needed. Let us join hands and hearts, working towards a more inclusive and righteous America.
